The story
Jeff's father became a first-time shopping mall manager in the 1990s. Corporate executives would visit and grill him on performance metrics he couldn't answer. He wrote down every question he was asked, identified 23 fields that covered all of them, and manually built a spreadsheet to populate them across properties. The CEO of a multi-billion-dollar company saw it and made him Head of IT.
